DESCRIPTION:
A vulnerability has been reported in AIX, which potentially can be
exploited by malicious, local users to gain escalated privileges.
The vulnerability is caused due to a boundary error in the "arp"
command. This can be exploited to cause a buffer overflow via an
overly long "iftype" argument.
The vulnerability has been reported in AIX 5.2 and 5.3.
SOLUTION:
Apply APAR.
